16barz radio welcomes Chris Heintz, VP of (A&R’s) at Mach1 music to discuss a two-part series on “How to get signed to a record label” On the first episode we discussed how important it is to have a large following and strong social media presence. Reaching out to your fans, friends and supporters is key when establishing an online presence. Remaining humble at all times is extremely critical to your career, because trust you do not want burn a possible business or networking bridge. So please no stats about how you hate the “Magna Carta” because you never know Jay may want to work with you. Choose your words wisely while tweeting and posts stats on your social media accounts. In addition remember to PLEASE keep your personal business offline, record labels could care less about what you and your baby momma argued about last night. Remember this is a business and large amounts of revenue is involved, so DO NOT appear to be a gamble or a risk. Your Avi picture should also be professional, no pics with you and your boys “Chillin” out drinking! NOT cool. Lastly, think of yourself as a brand and only put out your very best. Invest in yourself, promotions, studio time & your street team all should be on point!
